Beach athletes need to understand how to “check-in” on the state of their body and respond with an appropriate warm-up or cool down. In this “from the vault” footage (2022), Arhbie Guce, former Head Athletic Trainer for Beach National Teams, guides coaches and athletes through the process of a full body screen. Guce emphasizes that this systemic reflective process helps athletes understand where pain and tightness might reside in their body. Guce finishes by guiding coaches and athletes through some simple dynamic warm-up and stretching exercises on the beach. 00:00 - Intro: Prep & Recover 00:12 - Pre-Practice Body Screen 01:56 - Dynamic Warm-Up Explained 03:51 - Full Warm-Up Demonstration 05:32 - Lunge & Twist Variations 06:41 - Continuous Dynamic Movements 07:27 - Volleyball Specific Movements 08:30 - Post-Practice Cool Down 09:11 - Static Stretches for Sore Muscles
