Huni controlled much of the fight with his speed, movement, and accurate combinations, appearing ahead on the scorecards, but Wardley produced a dramatic comeback by landing a powerful right hand in the 10th round. Huni was unable to recover before the referee stopped the contest at 1:42 of the round, giving Wardley the victory and the interim WBA heavyweight championship.
