After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Pakistan unleashed an incredible display of six-hitting power. Imran Nazir retired unbeaten on 32 off just 10 balls, smashing four sixes and a boundary. Shoaib Malik blasted 31 off only seven balls, hitting three sixes and three fours, while Abdul Razzaq added an unbeaten 21 off seven deliveries to push Pakistan to a remarkable total. Australia faced an uphill battle from the start. Tom Moody and Brendon Julian briefly counterattacked, taking 25 runs off Shoaib Malik’s over, but Wasim Akram struck back by bowling Julian for 22 off nine balls. With 60 runs needed from the final over, Australia had almost no chance. Moody finished unbeaten on 31 off 16 balls, but Australia could manage only 69/1 in five overs as Pakistan secured a convincing 56-run victory. Pakistan made it three wins from three matches, while Australia suffered their third consecutive defeat in the tournament.
