Is it a masterpiece? Of course not. The appeal of this movie is pretty simple, it makes you smile,
This movie was one big liberal commercial. The idea of the movie was the belittle the conservatives in America and question their intelligence. I felt that the movie was also one that questioned the intelligence of white America. The movie was horrible, and Chris Rock should be banned from making anymore movies.
Seems to me this film is a comedy, and a damn funny one. It jumped out of the gate, maintained its tone, kept to a simple story... and it's FUNNY AS HELL. Don't knock the film because it's not what you thought it would be or would want it to be. And I thought Chris did a good job as director, at least from what's on the screen. The pace is good, the comedic timing is tight for the most part, and the shot design doesn't distract. It has some weak spots, but who cares when you're laughing so hard?
I truly enjoyed watching Head of State! It was Hilarious and it was Authentic! I This was the first film that I was an extra in. I had the opportunity not only to work next to Chris Rock but I had a chance to see him in his element as a Actor, Writer, and Director. Mr. Rock gave us advice and encouragement as extra's and what a pivotal role we play as Actor's and even though we were behind the scene we were just as important as the leading roles. I respected his drive and guidance. I didn't know I was in the Trailer until I was told by a friend of mine that he saw me in this Trailer in this movie "Head of State". It was an honor to be apart of such an Hilarious movie. Thank you Chris Rock and the whole production team of this film. Nicole D. Black - Actress.
This movie was funny, funny, funny. I laughed out loud and applauded during this film. Not only did I laugh, but the entire theatre laughed and applauded and cheered. It was truly a relief from all of the current world tragedies. Not only was Chris Rock funny, but Bernie Mac was hilarious, the comedy of Robin Givens was explosive and the premise of the movie was great. See this movie...NOW!
