This is CM Punk’s entire feud with The Undertaker. At Summerslam 2009, Punk beat Jeff Hardy to win the World Heavyweight Title. He was standing over Jeff, the gong hit and the lights went out. Taker appeared and hit Punk with a chokeslam. On Smackdown, Punk beat Jeff and he had to leave WWE. Punk came out dressed up as him next week, saying it’s the last time we saw a trace of Jeff because he got rid of him. He said Taker’s no longer Smackdown’s top icon and invited him to test his breaking point. Matt Hardy interrupted and started assaulting Punk until the officials stopped him. Punk complained about Matt to Teddy Long, who put him in a match against him. A submission match was announced between Taker and Punk for the title. Matt and Punk met in the main event, Punk hit Matt with a chair, ending in a DQ. Punk wrapped a chair around his neck, the gong hit and the lights went out. Taker appeared and put him through the announcer table. A week later, Taker said he will reclaim the title. Punk interrupted, saying Taker managed to brainwash everyone for the past 20 years. Later that night, Punk faced Matt in a submission match, where Punk won with the Anaconda Vice. Suddenly the gong hit and the lights went out. Punk’s title was gone and it was in Taker’s hand on the stage. They met at Breaking Point, where Taker won with the Hell’s Gate. Teddy Long came out and restarted the match because the Hell’s Gate was banned in May 2008. Then Punk caught Taker, the bell rang, he retained and Teddy was feeling guilty. Teddy appeared on Smackdown with his own security. Scott Armstrong was asked about what he did. He said he did what he did for his family and to keep his job. Vince asked Teddy why he did what he did. Teddy wanted to say it was Vince who made him but he couldn’t finish because Vince didn’t let him, who said he only wanted him to entertain people.
