The feud kicked off once again when Batista got upset over Shawn retiring Ric Flair at WrestleMania 24. Chris Jericho interviewed both men on "The Highlight Reel" and from here, Y2J would get involved after Shawn feigned an injury to defeat Batista. What would follow is a series of matches at Judgment Day 2008, The Great American Bash 2008, Unforgiven 2008 and No Mercy 2008 that were all highly entertaining.
