Imagine stepping into a dojo and facing 100 different fighters, one after another, with almost no time to recover. For most martial artists, that challenge would be nearly impossible. But in 1986, at just 23 years old, Shokei Matsui took on one of the most brutal tests in the history of Kyokushin Karate: the legendary 100-Man Kumite. Known for his extraordinary timing, precision, and devastating kicking techniques, Matsui was no ordinary fighter. While others relied on raw power, he combined technical brilliance with incredible discipline and endurance. But as the rounds continued, even his exceptional technique was put to the ultimate test. Exhaustion, pain, and relentless pressure threatened to bring him down. Yet Matsui kept moving forward. His achievement was only part of an extraordinary journey. He went on to win the 4th World Open Karate Tournament in 1987, establish himself among Kyokushin's elite, and eventually become the leader entrusted with carrying Masutatsu Oyama's legacy into the future. So what made Shokei Matsui so exceptional? Was it his technique, his physical strength, or the spirit that refused to surrender? This is the story of the man who endured 100 opponents and became one of the most influential figures in Kyokushin Karate. Could you survive even 10 rounds of the 100-Man Kumite?
