In preparation for his upcoming clash against Olympic gold medalist Luke Campbell, The Boxing Round Up take a look back at the speed and power of rising boxing star Ryan Garcia. Ryan Garcia is one of the fastest rising stars in boxing today. A baby-faced assassin with rapid hands and ferocious finishing instincts, Garcia has built a rabid fan base and is on a Pay-Per-View trajectory despite having barely left his teens. Written off in some quarters as all style and no substance, Garcia has spent his time wiping away that pretty boy persona with some ruthless displays of punching power inside the ropes. In 2018, Garcia switched stables to train with the highly-regarded Eddy Reynoso who also handles pound-for-pound star Saul “Canelo” Alvarez among others. Showing more nuance and guile in his work, to complement his clear athletic abilities, Garcia has reeled off some explosive knockouts over respected contenders. Linking his name to the likes of Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis in potential future mega fights, with a WBC title shot on the horizon Garcia’s ascent to world level is almost complete.
