The WWF and WCW put on their flagship Monday Night wrestling shows at the same time and fans had to make a choice on which tv show they would watch, resulting in both organizations putting on some exciting broadcasts while trying to gain wins in the television ratings. Reliving The War looks at every match and promo that took place during this time period. It's the night after WWF King of the Ring 1997 and more backstage problems between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels lead to Raw going through creative changes. Because the Hitman and The Heartbreak Kid have went home, the main event of this week's Raw gets changed. Elsewhere on the show Rob Van Dam battles Flash Funk, Owen Hart takes on Sycho Sid, and Davey Boy Smith defends the European Title against Goldust. WCW Nitro kicks off with big news; The Outsiders vs Roddy Piper & Ric Flair is going to take place live on TNT. Also, Hollywood Hogan is scheduled to wrestle, and Lex Luger is the man he'll face on Nitro.
