Judo vs Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Two grappling styles. One MMA cage. For years, martial arts fans have debated which discipline offers the greater advantage. But when Angela Lee faced undefeated challenger Jenny Huang at ONE: Warrior Kingdom, the answer wasn't as simple as anyone might expect. Angela Lee had built her reputation on elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, using takedowns, positional control, and submissions to overwhelm her opponents. Jenny Huang brought a different weapon. A Judo black belt with an impressive unbeaten record, she was known for her aggressive approach and ability to turn an opponent's movement into a takedown opportunity. But the fight didn't unfold as expected. Instead of immediately becoming a grappling battle, the early rounds featured striking exchanges, with Angela repeatedly putting pressure on Jenny while keeping the fight on the feet. Then came the moment when their grappling skills finally collided. Angela secured a takedown and began controlling the action on the ground. As the pressure continued, Jenny struggled to escape the champion's attacks. Eventually, the referee stopped the fight, giving Angela Lee the victory. But this story is about more than deciding which martial art is better. It reveals how techniques developed in different disciplines must adapt when they meet inside the unpredictable world of MMA. Can one martial art truly dominate another, or does the fighter's ability to adapt make all the difference?
