Before I checked out this movie I read the reviews first and they weren't good. So I thought that this movie is going to suck but out of boredom I popped the movie in and watched it. I find that this film is actually good, pretty good actually. Don't think of it as a sequel to Van Wilder but think of it as a spin-off. You won't get funny but awfully true life lessons here, just plain old humor. The only things I didn't quite like about the film is that Taj came out as invincible/lucky because of the dog food and test results and also because it lead to a swordfight. I know it got ridiculous didn't it? But overall it's a good film. Just relax, take it slow, and let the film roll.

Come on....it is just a movie....always keep your brain in home while coming to watch these type of movies. These are not drama movies which at least reflect some reality in nature, these are just the comedy movies with connection to reality anywhere, the only goal for these type of movies is sole entertainment....so please keep your brain in home and watch the movie and just keep laughing all the times...just laugh and laugh and laugh... Let me tell u the movie is awesome may it is just a matter of choice and taste...Don't believe in reviews, go and watch the movie Kal Penn is awesome here...Don't miss the movie if you are a Kal Penn fan!!. So get the refreshment dose and keep smiling.

This is not a great film, and certainly not a worthy sequel to the hysterical first film. The lack of any other characters from the first is a killing blow to this film. Its worth a look for the dog "ballsack" and for Taj. But otherwise its little more than giggle-worthy. Also, there is an incredible lack of research into real English society, This is the weakest Lampoon film i have ever seen. But worth a look when you're free Needed Ryan Reynolds.

This movie is not that bad. Rise of Taj as you know is about Taj Balarandaban an Indian boy who dreams about pink taco's who eventually ends up at some prestigious university in the UK as a teaching assistant, hi-jinx ensues shortly after. The movie is funny, the acting is good for this type of movie & Kal Penn is hilarious. All this talk about "low brow" humour is baffling, its a national lampoon movie, what are you expecting Oscar worth performances? Anyway, the movie is funny if you liked the 1st Van Wilder & found Taj to be funny. Not as good as the original but definitely worth checking out if you want to laugh at some fart jokes. Enjoy.

I have watched such cinematic abortions such as Showgirls, Gigli, Glitter, Police Academy films and low budget bollywood films with no plot or three different plots. Why? Because I'm a sadist when it comes to bad films. A "friend" brought it over after work and it was so awful we zoned out after 30 minutes and started talking.Lets just say the conversation we had would have made a much better film but thats not to be repeated here as children may read. The film was predictable and pointless and I have lost 30 minutes I will never get back. I'm so annoyed by the film i am still planning my revenge on the "friend" that brought it over to my house.

It's quite simple really; if you liked this first movie for its sexual content, beautiful women, foul language, jock humor and the Van lifestyle, then you will like the sequel. I remember so I liked it. If you have suppressed your youth at college, you properly won't find this movie entertaining. "The rise of Taj" is a must have in your collection of "how to party" movies. I hope that you will give this movie enough credit, to at least watch it once. Best Regards Jon Lykke

First off this was a very good movie for a sequel that didn't have the title's character in it. I watched it today, and I found it to be quite funny. The story isn't original but it still worked. Acting was good enough for a comedy, especial from Kal Penn and Lauren Cohan who are the love main love interest in this comedy. The opening scene with Taj and the Hot sauce girl was cheesy but extremely good as in the first one. Through out the rest of the movie are several other veriest laughs an like the first it did not go without nudity with some great shoots to say the least. I specially found the ending to be astoundingly funny. So I say on to other, to go and check it out. 4 out of 5 stars

I see there are few very bad reviews on this movie. I think most of these reviews have come from British viewers who did not like mockery of themselves. I understand it is hard sometime to see the mockery of yourself, specially if you the one who mocks others. Well this is 21st century and British are no more ruling the world. Face it man. Rise of the Taj is quite a fair reflection of a confident Indian facing the British with confidence and pride. It is also a reflection of the fact that Britain is still divided into two classes the cynical asshole snobs ( who wouldn't mind of conquer the world again) and the liberal class who accepts everyone one in the British Society with open arms. One bad thing I would like to say about this movie is the ending. The characters of Taj's parents were really not required. They were bit pushy with their comic. The ending could have been also a little sensible. All in all it is a good movie and I recommend people from both Britain and India to see the movie. For British viewers I would only like to say please enjoy the pun and don't draw conclusions.
