it's amazing
The intro was perfect. Shows the day to day of the average kid from the rural areas. Just got lost when Komu didn't go to the neighbour's for the cows. The subtitles could use some correct spellings though.
Big up to Komu! Super good acting right there and great story line. Jamo guy also was quite something. But I didn't quite feel Shiks' acting capabilities come out fully. Overall though, that was a great movie.
Really top class movie, the actors were all really good but I have to hand in to the main character(Komu)for an amazing performance,I mean the way he got fully engrossed and empathize with his character, making you just root for him till the end, The cinematography was great too and I also liked the inclusion of sheng and Kikuyu making it fully relatable to the audience.
Mwaura Bilal as the Komu takes us on this very intriguing journey of the dark side of city life. We fall in love with his gentle nature and feel his joy, pain and anguish, even his desperation. Chris Kamau was a cool bad guy. Shix Kapyenga plays the ideal girlfriend who we want to keep safe from harm. Great screenplay and fun characters., especially Komu's parents. Now this has set a new standard.
If it were a 2 episode show, I would definitely give a higher rating to the first 30 minutes or so, the rest after that was shawdy writing and acting. The first part gives a glimpse of the life that most Kenyan students go through . From being a student in persuit for some quick cash to ending up being radicalized into some terror group isn't really a story that most people could relate to, especially students in campus, whom the show's message seems to be targeting, plus that part is poorly acted. It was a nice try though, but we can do better.
