UFC 299 is set to be headlined by the bantamweight title bout between champion Sean O’Malley and challenger Marlon Vera. A lightweight clash between Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint-Denis will act as the co-main event. Sean O’Malley will face a familiar opponent in his first title defence as he is set to rematch Marlon “Chito” Vera for the Bantamweight title at UFC 299. After some debate over who would get the next title shot at Bantamweight Marlon Vera won the sweepstakes over Merab Dvalishvili and Cory Sandhagen. This will be Sean O’Malley first fight since his highlight knockout over Aljamain Sterling in August to claim the Bantamweight title.
