Moses Itauma’s Defeat Has Happened Before… TWICE Moses Itauma's first professional defeat to Filip Hrgovic reminded me of two heavyweight fights from the past. In 1998, a young unbeaten Wladimir Klitschko exhausted himself trying to stop Ross Puritty — and was eventually stopped himself. Thirteen months later, unbeaten heavyweight prospect Derrick Jefferson suffered a remarkably similar fate against David Izon. Two talented unbeaten heavyweights. Two painful lessons. But what happened afterwards couldn't have been more different. Klitschko adapted, rebuilt and eventually dominated the heavyweight division. Jefferson never quite fulfilled the enormous promise he'd shown as a young contender. Now, at just 21 years old, Moses Itauma finds himself facing perhaps the most important question of his career: What does he learn from defeat? 🥊 Wladimir Klitschko vs Ross Puritty 🥊 Derrick Jefferson vs David Izon 🥊 Moses Itauma vs Filip Hrgovic #MosesItauma #Boxing #HeavyweightBoxing #WladimirKlitschko #BoxingHistory
