I enjoyed watching this movie. No, I'm not gay, but I do enjoy watching "chick flicks". First off this movie would have been better as a straight to DVD rental with a lesser known cast. That being said, the only reason this movie was being shown in theaters is because of who the actresses were. I felt that the talent of these actresses were squandered on such a formulaic and predictable film. I give this film a 6 out of 10 stars because despite all it's misgivings I enjoyed the film. I'm glad I rented it, I wouldn't buy this movie, but I definitely think it's worth renting. One of the best surprises was the switch of Eva Mendes from the sweet lovable leading lady that she usually plays, to the mean, conniving and manipulative woman that she plays in this film. If you are fan of any of these actresses, you might be a little disappointed and maybe a little angry at the director.

Way too tame. Not sure why they bothered to remake it if they weren't going to be at least as sassy and gutsy as the original? And the banal 4th wall breaking vox pops at the end are rather patronising

This is the picture of actresses of whom some have done a kind of streching to look younger 10-20 years, but while looking them you think their skin will burst in a second or the picture of those who didn't do anything, but still look good?! It is really pointless to watch it.

I have been a member of IMDb for the past 3 years but this is the first movie which has motivated me enough to write a review!!! WHAT A LET DOWN!!! Meg Ryan tries too hard to be cute- (i thought her first hairstyle looked much better than her later straight slick do ala Jennifer Aniston.) The rest of the cast is not very likable either...with the very clichéd Danish nanny and throw in 1 or 2 lesbian girlfriends. The pace of the movie is excruciating and the general tone is preachy and in your face. The plot is transparent and predictable with few surprises. *sigh* Save your time and 10 bucks- please don't watch this. PS: I am a Meg Ryan fan but...not anymore...

This was an excellent film. Meg Ryan is as adorable as ever, you always seem to root for her and this movie was on exception. Debra Messing is so cute 24/7. Annette Bening is sweet all the time. Jada Pinkett Smith is great. Meg Ryan plays a women who has been cheated on, she's so conserved but just wants to let it out. Debra Messing plays one of those best friends who is a mother of a lot of kids, always has a house full, but somehow handles it. Annette Bening plays a business women who still has time for her best friends. And Jada Pinkett Smith plays a lesbian night owl who won't trade anything for her friend If you have a mother, a daughter, a grandma, an aunt, a best friend, or any woman in your life; so see this movie with them. This is one of those movies where you walk out feeling different about yourself and the world around you. Chick flick doesn't begin to describe The Women. I personally recommend you see this movie

Meg Ryan stars as a woman who has it all, including a husband who is a Wall Street bigwig with all the perks: a beautiful house to work on at her leisure, a child, and a job working for the family business...until she finds out that her husband is cheating on her with a major department store employee (Evan Mendes)—and she's the last one to know. With an all-star cast, you'd think they'd at least TRY and put a little more gusto into the plot. I've never seen the original, but I'm surprised that if the original were this bad, they'd never do a remake of this film. One of the most novel approached I've seen in any movie lately was that this film had, absolutely, no men in front of the camera...not even a picture of a husband or a boyfriend. I've loved Meg Ryan since I first saw her on that soap opera years ago and I still love her today, but this film still leaves a lot to be desired. 7 out of 10 stars.
