I thought this was a brilliant piece and didn't want it to end. Right until the final episode you are held in the dark. There are a few gaps and weaknesses but on the whole it is wonderfully suspenseful. I hope they make another series with Kata and Arnar as the lead detectives in a new Nordic police thriller.
Not all Nordic thrillers are great, but they all have that very particular feel to them . Netflix managed to do what they always do, and had their standardized production prozess suck every bit of uniqueness out of the show . An uninvolving cast, the lazy script and cheap production didn't add much either . When you watch the dubbed version, this might as well be a mediocre cop show set in Minnesota ; there is nothing Islandic about it , none of that Nordic Noir can be found either .
