Trois enterrements

Made me a Barry Pepper fan. Was thrilled to see Levon Helms one last time and Tommy Lee Jones has always been one of my favorite actors. HOWEVER, I've watched this 4-5 times over the years and can only conclude Estrada's "wife" was a woman he loved and may have had a relationship with, but he had no marriage, no children and no home with her...just wishes and the fantasy of family. That is the only hole in the movie, unexplained, and that the locals near "Jimenez" have no idea who Estrada is.

I was not expecting a story like this, as I was very familiar with the other movies written by Guillermo Arriaga...so the surprise was even more powerful when I saw something very original:) Nothing utterly complicated, wonderful music, good actors; that was a recipe for one of the most interesting movies of 2005. You might look at the primary story, and you would see just some simple revenge, but that is just the backbone of some other interesting stories from today's world: marriage,poverty,love,friendship. I would not spoil your pleasure with details of this movie: just go and see it!

Quite a somber watch. I wouldn't call it depressing. Just detached. I got this years ago as a disc only sale at a grocery store. Finally watched it. Great acting all around. Nothing really wrong with the film , it might be inspired by a true story but it doesn't really have any relation with that killing. The victims family plot is the confusing bit. I don't think it was needed. But maybe it was. It wasn't a bit deal. We'll Pepper make it back across the border. I think maybe eventually but he might find things interesting on this side for a bit. French seem to have a thing about westerns now and then Blueberry was another (Renegade in the USA) that one as weird. Good but weird. Quality:8/10 Entertainment: 8/10 Re-Playable : 5/10

Tommy Lee Jones with Barry Pepper, plus salty dog Dwight Yocum make a fantastic movie. Tommy Lee Jones weaves a morality old west / modern day version cowboy tale using a talented directors eye (think Kurt Russell Tombstone) and steady (never a dull moment) storyline. You know it's good when you leave the movie smiling!

I'm so confused. Watching on Crackle. Subtitles only when speaking English? I under English. I don't understand Spanish. And they showed subtitles for English-speaking tv talk that has nothing to do with movie. Same issue with movie Bordertown. Anyway, I enjoy Timmy Lee Jones and I liked this movie. I only Wish I understood the dialogue better.

There was not a sympathetic main or supporting role character you could empathize with in this entire film. The story was about a bunch of cons, sluts and nuts. See this one if you are looking for a stressful downer with no uplifting ending. Just to unbelievable events. Like he found two tiny shell casing in the middle of no where, but they couldn't track these guys on four horses! To many whys at the end. What happened to every one? Did he get caught? Did he get back? Did they get together? Why did he lie? What was she hiding? Did not change my mind on illegal immigration. Went into this movie positive. Came out negative. Save seeing this one for a rainy day. This one is over rated by two or three stars.

A great story about true friendship that crosses the borders of America and Mexico. A story that shows what authentic faithfulness and commitment means, while also forcing one man to come to repentance and true internal redemption through confrontation with the hidden darkness in his soul. A genuinely amazing story worth watching.
