The Royal Treatment

I watched this out of curiosity as it kept popping up on my Netflix home page and did not really expect to like it. But I did! The dialogues are crisp and witty and delivered with the right attitudes. The main leads, bubbly Izzy (Laura Marano) and charming Prince Thomas (Mena Massoud) are likeable. It's an entertaining watch.

The Royal Treatment is a movie that begins like a rushed train and hits us with a lot of unnourished stuff. First things first, things that hit us the most are the out of line performance from the actors and screenplay that gets cringy with time. With every passing act the way this film stands, it gives us a hollow feeling and makes nothing much out of the whole presentation that director Rick Jacobson has put together. Pacing in the movie stays unbalanced all the time and the way all the three acts have been put together gives us the feel of a good budget commercial video rather than a feature film. Talking about the story the audience will instantly get the general idea of how many predecessors this particular film has and some of them will stand as a direct reference. Overall in the end it's a movie that will test your patience in many ways and will ask you to watch it if you are getting bored. In terms of watching it highly points in the direction of one time watch.

The Royal Treatment goes above and beyond the bad Netflix movie into just truly bad, that was the laziest movie ever. A reverse Aladdin with terrible accents.

Just so bad... The characters are so bad that you end up hating them ... specially the girl with the main character aaggghhh I didn't bite for one second the roll of "save the poor and fight for justice" 🤦 bad...bad...bad... Tragic for Mena Massoud.

Same story of Prince being swept off feet by commoner. Cute Latino story with cute prince. Scenes are pretty, costumes appropriate for caste system. Enjoyable!
