its js so very edited—the sea, the shark, the smoke/fire. it doesn't have any thrill
I watched this, despite seeing the low scores because I have been a great fan of all things Shark for more than 50 years. For the first hour, despite some sketchy issues with the script and direction, it had enough depth and tension to build on what was expected to come. The background music deserves special mention of aiding the tone of the film. Artistic licence is almost always required for a Shark movie but the way that it was done during the last 15 minutes was almost worthy of Sharknado. It really was that bad for a film that was not attempting to be a parody of the Jaws genre. It was if somebody decided to give up on the production three quarters of the way through and rushed to finish it. Alicia Silverstone is not at fault because she made the best out of what was presented to her. With a little more care and attention, this could have been so much more.
I'd like the film makers to get eaten by sharks, but that is very unlikely to happen, because sharks aren't nearly as dangerous as film makers would like us believe. It is far more likely to happen that many sharks will meet untimely deaths due to films of this nature (shark populations declined over 70% over the last half decade, and 30% of their species are endangered, and films like Jaws have not helped in how we treat these animals).
Absolutely atrocious do not watch this utter crap just watch Jaws again, it literally makes no sense the CGI sharks are the worst I've ever seen & the 2 "actors" in it are so wooden I got splinters just watching...please avoid like the plague...
I fast forwarded to any action. Was horrified (not in a good way) at what I saw. Fast forwarded even more. Still atrocious. Everything is wrong with this film. Four minutes later I saw the final scene and was happy for the pure joy of finally having a reason to rate something with a 1...
Hard to believe this director also did the film "Furie" which was a great film. This movie was terribly acted. Terribly written. The CGI is laughable. Alicia is awful and her voice grates on you after 2 minutes. The man is awful as well. Go watch Furie instead.
I LOVE Alicia, and enjoy her but she was a whiny mess in this. Imagine the end of titanic but worse and on the Lifetime channel. It's NOT a shark movie, fyi. There are some shots from shark week for about 4 mins total. I gave it two stars for Alicia which is about what she earned.
