Lezploitation lez•ploi•ta•tion--- lèz-ploy-táy-sh'n noun 1. Unfair treatment or use: The practice of taking selfish or unfair advantage of lesbians or lesbianism, usually for personal gain. 2. Development of lesbians for benefit: The use or development of a faux lesbian identity in order to gain a benefit. •Example: In an interview, writer/director Lisa "Sellout" Cholodenco said her movie (The Kids are Alright) was "meant to appeal to male audiences, not lesbians" … which obviously categorized it as a lezploitation movie.

Greetings from Lithuania. Just watched "the last" film of the contenders to best films in 2010 and this is a good movie, warm movie, a charming film. The performances are first rate, script is funny and real. Watch this film if you didn't do it by now, you all should give this movie a try, just don't expect "American Beauty" or something like that, but this is a good film. Bravo for all involved, this one truly deserves an Oscar nomination for a best film of 2010, better that "Winter's Bone". Overall, 9/10 - really good.

My first reaction was that I was watching the Odd Couple with Felix and Oscar. Nic (Annette Bening) was just falling all over herself trying to be open an accepting, while Jules (Julianne Moore) was more authentic and earthy. In fact, I would probably be in opposition to most when I say that Moore did a much better job in the film. Yeah, I know that Bening is getting more of the accolades, but I just get turned off by her character's perfectionism. Mark Ruffalo was excellent as Paul, the sperm donor, and Mia Wasikowska was endearing as their daughter, Joni. A great film about relationships and parenting with a twist that makes it all the more fun.

It wasn't until going home that I realised I was robbed! The idea of a lesbian couple, and the sperm donor gave me the impression that this movie would be hilarious. True, it was funny, giggles here and there, but over- all not great. It was so predictable, there was no originality and to be honest, such a cliché. Hate the portrayal of lesbian couples in it... its common and boring! The worst was the ending... no big hit, no nothing! Just some 'dude' in the back seat with an epiphany... that's it. Disgusted!!!!

So so story that was only viewed due to the fact that both Bening and Moore were in it. They portray a lesbian couple in this whose children (donated via a sperm donor) decide they want to seek out their biological father played by Mark Ruffalo. Joni(Mia Wasikowska) and Laser(Josh Hutcherson ) go behind their mother's backs to arrange a secret meeting with an ever so agreeable Paul (Ruffalo) and end up striking up a relationship with their father and eventually bringing him over to meet the mothers. This chance meeting between the 5 of them turns their lives upside down. I originally viewed the trailer for this feature just to see if i thought it would be worth a watch and when i saw that both powerhouse actresses being Bening and Moore were in it, I like Ruffalo as well i figured it has to be good. Well the actresses performances although strong as always coudn't difliberate this often dull movie.
