The Honeymoon Phase

I give this one star because of the obviously fake reviews. It is exasperating that producers/directors/or whoever resort to this stupid tactics. A film is expected to stand on it's own merits, and if whoever makes film can not tolerate public opinion then they shouldn't be in the business. if public opinion is poor then filmmakers should learn from it and improve their art - not try and create some false delusional perception they have of themselves.

I really wasn't expecting much from a low budget film but was pleasently surprised on the twists and small clues throughout the movie. Definitely a good watch and interesting take on a cabin fever type movie.

The big name films are on the sidelines due to the pandemic and in the beginning I was devastated as a movie. However, one positive during all of this is that the smaller films that you might not have seen has taken center stage. I purchased "The Honeymoon Phase" without ever hearing about it or seeing a trailer and I made the right decision. The film is beautifully shot and reminded me of an episode of Black Mirror. This film deserves your attention and the performance by Chloe Carroll is INCREDIBLE! Do yourself a favor and search for this film and fall in love with it like I did

This is incredibly idiotic from its inception, delivery and execution. The acting is poor and none of the cast were good enough to make this film any thing more than being watchable.

The story was balanced by a very well paced structure, with the 1st act being a slow but interesting build, and the 3rd being an explosive thrill ride was with heart-pounding tension. The two leads, played by Chloe Carroll and Jim Schubin, gave great performances from beginning to end. Both were given challenging emotional roles that changed significantly from the first act to the finale, and seeing the progression unfold was truly remarkable. What's most impressive was the fact that this was a low budget indie by first time feature director/writer, Phillip G. Carroll Jr. He truly stretched the dollar, weaving a talented cast and great script into a truly great horror/sci-fi film!

A mediocre film that turns into a horrible one by the third act. It was a missed opportunity, they could have made the main story more of a mysterious sci-fi thriller but instead focused mainly on the relationship. Then in the final act you get everything at once and was delivered poorly.
