source: The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir
It's an movie which give perspective to view a life in another side.Don't miss it!!
The journeys from one airport to another make no sense. How could he so easily travel through different nations with just 100 euro?
Slumdog shows india this film used india. there nothing in this film that is remotely relatable to india.
Guter unterhaltsamer schöner romantischer und doch sehr ernsthafter Film
Starring - Dhanush as (Ajatshatru - Aja) Tamil movie actor and producer Dhanush makes his English-language debut as a Mumbai street magician who travels to Paris to look for his father. Dhanush named Ajatshatru Lavash Patel has a heart of gold and a solid purpose. Along the way, Ajatshatru ends up getting a tour of Europe's most photogenic cities. He falls in love, discovers a community of immigrants and asylum seekers. The movie is a bit slow and dull in some parts but it is dhanush who make this flick watchable. The story of the movie contains every element of being a perfect entertainer but the director and script writter are failure to showcase it in some parts and of course in some parts both of them are winners but with more care and good execution the makers could have made a perfect entertainer out of the novel "The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe"(The movie is based on this novel). The Movie could have been a better journey if it had more laughs and some real magic. But then it ends up as an average attempt .., trying to convey the message of "Karma" with hardly any inspiration.
The movie has a good message. But having a message is not enough for a good movie. It needs a compelling story and captivating acting. Unfortunately, I found none of these in the movie.
Within the first 10 mins of the movie , when you see poor slums of mumbai , Dhobighat ( open laundry ), & 3 men riding on a single bike , you know the director has never seen India , he still has in his mind the 1970s sterotypes of India . The same trend continues throughout the movie , too much feel good leading to lot of stupid non believable fantasy . In one instance , a rich guys pays the hero 100 grands for a stupid story ( which u would heard 100 times in ur child ) . Director just decided to make a travel comedy , which works in some parts giving some humor , but majority of the movie is predictable with some lame fantasy stuff happening. Though Dhanush is a good actor , he seemed quite uncomfortable in this role . Most of other actors also seemed cheap side actors
