The Big Take

The writer was obviously a fan of Quentin Tarantino. That being said, it doesn't feel like a Tarantino rip-off, but it's own movie. Entertaining throughout, an overall enjoyable watch!

Short and to the point. Entertaining. Well written plot and likable characters. It's a movie you can enjoy. No morals or preaching. No hidden agenda to push. A straight up little story that is sure to please.

A decent thriller. Acting ok, story ok. The writer being mistaken for the blackmailer was the one interesting twist; probably more could have been done with that. Overall watchable but a fairly mundane story line.

Don't watch this unless you have A LOT of time to kill. There are so many better movies to be seen. Watch something you like again twice before wasting time on this one - I didn't even finish watching it.

This was not what I expected at all. I suppose I've seen worse films. This is basically a film you'd see at one of the lesser known film festivals at one of the unpopular times. It's an okay story but when you're done, you feel like you've wasted your time. There are a couple of scenes in the film that make it seem really unprofessional, like something a couple of frat boys threw together in their spare time. There's a lot of content out there now and so much of it is just so much better than this movie that I can't recommend it.

I had fun watching this movie. I say that as it seems that I'm the only one that thought there was some subtle humor weaved into the story. The Big Take is categorized as a thriller but the plot has some funny moments, what made this movie more than enjoyable to watch. Justin Daly did a good job with this movie, a fluent story with some unexpected elements, a good cast, and an excellent soundtrack (in fact one of the better soundtracks I've heard in a long time). The music (ska, punkrock and metal) is a great addition to this movie, the bands and artists are the ones I listen to all the time. If you're into ska this movie is already worth the watch, you get good music on top of an entertaining story.
