The moment you hear the title of this, you'll know the whole story. A frenzy in predictability! R. Zellweger and C. O'Donnell doing an average minor job. The three minutes with Brooke Shields makes it worth the trip. It's the first time I've seen her acting -- meaning acting -- and she does a hell of a job! 1* - for Madame Shields.

Painfully i was looking for some comedy which would run on the lines of When Harry Met Sally or Miami Rhapsody (featuring Sarah Jessica Parker/Antonio Banderas). This is one of the dumbest movie I had ever seen. Obviously the director/writers must be some teenagers with a cheap predictable plot. Chris O'Donnell is such a waste, after the kind of performance he had given in Scent of a woman. 1/2* out of 10.

The plot is not exactly original, but the movie itself is great. It combines comedy with a real life problem. The thing I like the best about it is that it`s focusing on the idea men have about the great step between being single and married; going through metaphors such as "mustangs looking for grass"; or screwing his engagement with "shit or get off the pot". It`s a fun movie and I definitively recommend it.

It has its moments, but the film is slow and has no surprises. While watching some scenes I was reminded of Buster Keaton even though I didn't realize this was a remake of Seven Chances, which I've never seen. Mildly entertaining, but don't go out of your way.

In the top of the cannon of BAD movies. Shame actors of the caliber of Peter Ustinov, James Cromwell, Hal Holbrook and Ed Asner to participate is this travesty for MONEY. Hal Holbrook actually offers his 15 year old daughter to the "star" of this excretion to get money. Chris O'Donnell cannot act plus he was the executive producer of this "film." Shame on his too. I watched part of this, because I could not believe the badness of this film and its despicable depiction of both men and women. Artie Lange said on The Howard Stern Show that Renee Zellweger was impossible to work with, pretentious and full of herself. That is the most interesting think about this "film." Avoid at all cost, unless like me, you are temporarily fascinated by its badness.

this movie, the bachelor, is a very great romantic comedy that is so unfairly made fun of. i think it is a great movie, and the plot is not an original plot. that makes this movie a very good movie that can be a family movie, also. i give this film a 9/10

My favorite quote in this movie is when a hispanic woman asks The Bachelor if latinas are acceptable to him and he says "I'm sorry....you have to be able to speak English". It's fascinating how the writer of this movie managed to represent a good number of the female characteristics that an American man finds unappealing, as thru the course of the movie he approaches some of his past girlfriends to propose to them, and you see for yourself what a pain in the *ss they are! ;) The butch police woman, the stuck up and cold socialite, the feminist college student, the clinging vine, the "totally into her job, ignoring her man" stock exchange woman, the prima donna opera singer. Perhaps I liked the movie because it made me feel smug afterwards. I came out smelling like a rose!!!! LOL

Agreed that the script could be a lot better, but theirs something about this movie that I think everyone needs to see. It's not very funny for a comedy but it's interesting and like I said, it's not the best script but their are somethings as a young man/woman you can learn from this movie. You find yourself criticizing the lead actor for not recognizing and grabbing something good that's there staring him in the face which is to propose properly to the woman that loves him and vice versa and at the same time you also kind of understand what it is that he's afraid of. I will like to say more about this movie but for your sake I will stop here. Don't skip this movie for what those giving it a bad review are saying and watch this movie.
