Such a lovely film full of joy from the acting to the music to the wonderfully enjoyable story with such charming characters. This film made me smile and laugh out loud. After watching it you will want to watch it again as I did.
Maya Batash's film Talking to God is a truly enjoyable movie with an inspirational message that true happiness must come from within. Maya's journey to Uman and interaction with many eccentric characters keeps the audience entertained. And the film contains a true message about the importance of prayer but also how ones internal contentment is key to one being happy with their lot in life. I recommend this film.
Talking to God is a comedy that has meaning and depth. This is a modernized version of a classic tale that deals with finding contentment through daily brief practice of showing gratitude and establishing connection with a higher power. It balances comedy with touching moments that portray how people searching for meaning in their lives can find it in a most unexpected place. It's a movie that leaves you thinking about ways to derive greater satisfaction no matter what type of hand life has dealt to you. Highly recommended.
Such a nice simple feel good movie! A bubble of positive vibes in our current selfish and egocentric world.
I enjoyed this movie very much. Despite the comforts that society has ot offer, unhappiness is also a pandemic and experiencing joy is a practice that needs to be pursued like any sort of fitness or work. This movie in a warm and witty way tackles the concepts of voids in one's life and the never ending quest for meaning. The characters are funny, sweet, and nuanced. The metaphors are significant. It is hard to find an experience that is at once deep and meaningful while being light and breezy. I was happy to come across this film.
The movie is very creative in how it relates the story to many things from our lives. It has many funny scenes and is a must watch for all ages.
A film for the exact times we are living through right now. Everything is taken away and still the main character is happy and dancing and celebrating Shabbat. No matter what the king takes away the main character keeps reinventing himself to maintain his life without giving up. This is a film for the times and everyone should watch!
Talking to God is a great film that both entertains and stirs the soul! A must see for anyone who is searching for deeper meaning in life and a closer connection to God.
Based on a short story by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, this film was humorous and poignant and could be appreciated by people from all walks of life.
