تدور أحداث الفيلم في قالب يجمع بين الجريمة والكوميديا، يسعى لص السيارات (ديك) الذي تم إطلاق سراحه مؤخرًا إلى الاستقامة في حياته، ولكن تلك الخطط تفشل عندما يتم قتل صديقه المقرب (هاري)، يخبره (هاري) بينما هو على أعتاب الموت عن ثروة كبيرة من المال كان قد سرقها وخبأها، يحاول ديك أن يصل إلى المال، على الرغم من العوائق الكثيرة التي تعترض طريقه.
