Saravana (Silambarasan) and Krishna (Krishna) are close buddies in college. Saravana sees a video tape of Krishna's sister Sadhana (Jyothika) studying in London and falls in love with her. So to meet her, Saravana goes with Krishna to a village near Tirunelveli where he finds that there is a bloody war going on between two warring caste groups. Krishna's brother Soundarapandi (Prakash Raj) his wife and Krishna are killed by the rival group of Dorai Singam. However Saravana saves Sadhana and takes her to Chennai. Initially Sadhana is not accepted by Saravana's large family but slowly when they come to know about her background they support and love her. The rest of the film is how Saravana tries to help Sadhana to go back to London, and in the process eliminates the entire gang of Dorai Singam single-handedly.

There is Simbu, craving for a Super star status. There is K.S.Ravikumar, craving for a movie and there were new faces who wanted to be screened in the movies... A perfect combination to make a movie. There is no involvement in the movie from any of them , except the New face Villain who was I guess was in movie bcos of his blood shot eyes. Jothika doesn't have much to play and she also has very little dialogues to deliver. Simbu sports a Rajnikanth look and also has the name Saravana, a common name for Rajnikanth in most of his movies (including his latest Chandrmukhi). A usual story.. 5 songs, 4 fights, 1 item number, 1 Villain with bunch of useless hench men, a love triangle,death of a friend and revenge. End of story.
I saw movie now in 2022. It looks like young man who saves and protects his family. It is the good movie to watch. It is Decent Blockbuster for Simbu. Previous, his movies are so bad and involves sexual activity. This movie does not have sexual activity from Simbu. It is good family entertainer movie. Saravana is Blockbuster movie and lovable to watch. My Rating 7 out of 10. Simbu should change his attitude. He having lots of talents like Style, Acting, Singing, Dancing and Direction. But he misusing and spoiling his image. Simbu have lots of talents. If he doesn't involve bad activities his range was so high. He can even give tough fight to Ajith and Vijay. So, Simbu should change his attitude. He should do good things.
