Wow the movie police should have been called for this travesty life sentences for all that participated in this GARBAGE.
This was pretty bad. I am not a fan of slapstick and do not tend to see the humour in randomly drawing a * either. However this was surprisingly not the worst film i have ever seen. There were some good jokes too and even some references that could only have come from the ASOIAF books. Missed oppertunity to use Michael Jackson's thriller during Jon Doe's dance off.
It is a truly terrible movie and all the better for it. It knows that it is bad and revels in it. The Trump Schtick was bad. The acting was "purposefully" bad. Piff the dragon was the star. Angus McFadyen using different accents - sometimes within the same speech - was inspired and the part that was most enjoyable. It's a knockabout film, made to a budget. It's better than sticking pins in your eyes.
Every now and then a film comes along that is so bad it defies any analysis of how it got funded. This is one. It is truly awful. To say any more would spoil the awfulness for anyone who has the misfortune to stumble across it - hopefully without paying any money to see it. The only reason I gave it a rating of three is : One star for the audacity of the producers to get this film funded. Another star for being able to get any form of distribution. A third star for a pretend hot blonde.
The biggest and best GOT parody ever made. The film is worth watching just to see Lou Ferrigno in a medieval movie in England. Some of the unknown actors are very weak however all the name stars put in fun performances.
I know I'm supposed to review "modern" parodies parodies on THC. I apologize for being on pure high-grade alcohol (the no longer produced - real - Cuban Havana Club Añejo Blanco) for this review. 'Nuff said. 'Cept I miss (no really, really miss) Mell Brooks. So... title Game of Thrones and The Purge. Guessing the "Purge" is current due to the rather weak TV-series? (Hope season 2 will be okay). GoT, well, again, ''nuff said. Good things: 1. I staid awake. Usually I fall asleep while watching these things. 2. I recognized quite a lot of the references. 3. The production values where okay. 4. Most of the Trump parody stuff was actually okay. Actor did great. Bad things: 1 I miss (no really, really miss) Mell Brooks. 2. The story was extremely limited. As it referred mostly to season one of GoT storywise, it could have been made a number of years ago. I could have done with a White Walker or something... This is keeping in mind that I still have to watch the last two seasons... 3. Rap culture (lone survivor before "sequel rewind") is not cool outside limited parts of the U.S. 4. "Purge" parody from title was barely there (mostly used as reference). Anyway, some money was made... Parodies where never the height of cultural expression. But as far as movies are concerned, we know what Brooks did. We found his early predecessors acceptable (Scary Movie a.s.o.). One may even call 'Brazil' a parody of '1984'. We experienced Python and the late '70's S.N.L. eps. This particular movie may not live up to those standards. But it's a very slight step upwards from other recent parodies. As a fan of "Blazing Saddles" and "Life of Brian", I hope it's the early start of an upwards trend. A sightly shiny pebble in what could be a sea of diamonds, rather than a lightly shiny pebble in a pile of common pebbles.
This movie is really awful. The jokes are just brutally bad. Terrible acting too.
Maybe it's just me I know it's bad acting in a bad storyline but I found it somewhat entertaining I had nothing else to do in an hour to kill. The little dragon was my favorite.
Honestly I know spoof movies never get good ratings but I watch them regardless. I loved the starving games (parody of the hunger games) so I was hoping this would be just as good. Unfortunately, it was not. Honestly the only funny characters were Cersei and bran (ironic given their roles in the actual series). The fact that trump and the Kardashian's were a part of this movie was just so weird. Mixing 21's century stuff with game of thrones time just felt odd. A for effort, I had a laugh or two but overall it was pretty bad.
