The disclaimer says it had no budget, was shot on phones and has issues with sound and visual. The reviews on here are begging ppl to take this into account , that it's not film its a theatre show recorded! Yet they still ask for £8 to watch it!!! No much business sense. They mustnt have yet reached that part of the curriculum on their film course. Students!
For the theatre groups first time filming anything, especially on mobile phones, i think they did a fine job. I was not going to write a review but it appears that some people on here are expecting a 10 million pound film when this is clearly a play done on a cheap budget under tough circumstances. Some of these reviews just seem like bullying or people going in not reading the description. Also, a poster has said they found this title on a worst films of 2021 list. That list also has Bond, Venom, Shang - Chi and Army of the Dead on it, it is hardly a worst of list. Also, i repeat, this is clearly not a FILM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have people watched this, it is very clear to see it is a play? If you do not like slow burn noir style films or theatre, then this will not be for you. I watched this with my wife, she enjoyed it more than me, but i could appreciate what this group did. It could benefit from losing 30 minutes in my opinion, but opinions are like Well, you know the rest.
I'm not sorry, this takes forever to get to any type of exciting part, and when you get there it isn't so exciting! Nothing happens! The detective guy, did he need be in-between every scene. Either take him out or take the others out as they're both repeating each other. Refused to watch more than a hour, be warned.
The tens on here are too high, it does not deserve 10s. However, the 1 stars? That's a little baffling. Yes it's shot on phones by people who do not appear to have filmed much before but it explains that at the begining. It is also not a film, this is a stage play, im not sure why people are calling it a film? I enjoyed it, it's a bit slow at times but the rest of the time it's lots of fun. The performances are very 'stage like' but I feel like that is the point coz its like an old movie or TV show. Yes it has a few sound issues and some moments are a bit rough in terms of filming but if you enjoy plays I think you will enjoy this. It is not filmed as well as some shows, but one star reviews are silly.
I actually enjoyed this. Its cheap, but once you get past some of the flaws in the filming you have something pretty entertaining here. I love noir movies so I could see what they went for. The start is pretty slow but from the moment they got to the school I found the pace picked up. Loved the woman playing Victoria and the guy playing her husband. Bit long, could be cut down, but enjoyable if you can get past the way it was made.
This is a superb watch! I was immediately transported to a theatre. The set snd characters were brilliant, especially Emma Morgan. It was cleverly shot/edited to show only the colour red, a metaphor for danger! Veronica is certainly dangerous with a femme fatale vibe. The plot is clever with a few twists that I didn't expect. Craig wrote this script brilliantly!! The 2hrs 30 mins just flew by! Well done Vertigo and all concerned. Amazing talent on and off the screen!
I urge anyone and everyone to stay away from this awful film. Its so badly written and takes forever to go nowhere. Best part is the opening disclaimer that trys to tell you why its turned out so dreadful.
It was really cleverly done with the black and white, but only the colour red showing through. The storyline was very engaging and it was really interesting to watch! The characters were well thought out and very realistic. I really enjoyed it and it was worth watching.
Caught this on Prime, did not know what to make of it at first. The opening screen garb says it had no budget, shot only on phones and this seemed to be done because of covid closing down their theatre This is NOT a film, it's a filmed recording of a show, something i think is quite admirable. The cast are good and seem to be having fun playing up their roles with Emma Morgan as Mrs Smart as a stand out. The writing felt very of its time and i enjoyed the use of video projections as locations. To say it was filmed on phones by amateurs, i think they have done a nice job. It has some sound issues and it's quite long, but other than a few scenes i would have cut (some of the dad scenes seemed a bit repetitive) i had a lot of fun. I am a fan of theatre and musicals , and i think this is strictly for fans of that art form. If you are looking for a film, you will be disappointed. I don't know if somebody hates a cast member or the creators or film studio, but please ignore the 1 stars, it does not deserve that at all, as long as you know what it is going in to it, that it is a play shot on phones, then i think you will find a lot to enjoy.
