Kornbluth, a cell biologist whose eight-year tenure as Duke University’s provost has earned her a reputation as a brilliant administrator, a creative problem-solver, and a leading advocate of academic excellence, has been selected as MIT’s 18th president. An inauguration ceremony is not just the investiture of a president; it is the participation by an institution in the traditions of academe. Delegates from the worldwide academic community will join MIT faculty, students, staff, alumni, and trustees in the procession. Attendees will enjoy musical performances by MIT artists as the Institute welcomes and inaugurates its 18th president. The ceremony tent may be accessed beginning at 2:30 pm from Building 3, Building 4, or Memorial Drive.
