Very nice movie...but so heartbreaking. ..I have cried my eyes out..and why did it end like that.. am in so much pain I feel so bad for MAI😪😭😭😭😭
Great acting! Not sure why the bad reviews, something about the director? It popped up as a new addition in nflx so checked it out. Watched it on Netflix with subtitles. The movie was well written with a good mix of comedy, happiness and dramatic. This was the first Vietnamese drama I watched and enjoyed it from beginning to end. The actors are good, story line was easy to follow, and there were some interesting plot twists. Excellent cinematography for this genre, meaning the camera rolls were uniquely placed for various scenes (I'm trying to describe it as first person). The editing was creative and overall I'd recommend.
First, i never watched vietnamese movies in my entire life. But this made me speechless especially the one who act as MAI. And the plot twists is so amazing even already knew this twists but it still amaze me. That's incridible. Great directing, perfect actors (i mean MAI coz she is the main character), Very nice DOP, Camera Lighting, Editing, Color Grading, Audio mixing.., ect. I'm really wondering why vietnemes movie is so improve within these years. Well done guys, and i really appreciate everyone whoever.perticipate in this incridible movie. Thank you...Thank you so much. With Lots of Love from Myanmar.
As someone who has indulged in countless incredible films from all genres, all eras, and all countries - I can indeed say it is no overstatement to say that Vietnam is a filmmaking country not to be overlooked. And this masterful composition, by a great director, and starring an ever impressive cast, is indeed a perfect testament of such. The actors all do an incredible job, conveying high and raw drama, with some humour baked in between it all. It is filled with lots of immense twists ans turns for the ages indeed. Very beautiful and real script, expertly written and paced. The cinematography, cutting and editing is incredible, very characteristic of the director's style, and indeed very beautifully put together, and accompining the raw and somewhat surreal tone of the film. Overall, definitely a highlight of the year, and a masterful film, that is highly recommended for any lover of film! Perhaps not for the faint of heart.
I recently watched a movie that kept me on the edge of my seat with its surprises. At first, it seemed like a typical romantic film, but the movie Mai offered an authentic glimpse into Vietnamese life through cinema. What impressed me was the character of the mother-in-law, who, despite being a supporting character, used many psychological tricks to drive the plot forward. She not only pushed the story's climax in the second act but managed to do so again in the third and fourth acts. I highly recommend this movie to anyone looking for a great time at the theater. It would be primarily best to go with your family to understand more about your relatives.
I like the movie vibe and the struggle faced by them in the real society. Everything is good until the ending. Never thought he will do that. He can still smile and talk proudly. Definitely, not a true long lasting love. Seriously, why man can have good life and woman have to struggle. When a men is a player / mommy spoilt child, definitely there is a catch. Many nowadays girls ( this generation) fall for the handsome face and fake promise My advice to all men, don't enter a women life if you cannot keep a promise. Don't destroy their life with fake promise if you cannot keep it.............
This is a beautiful story about the character Mai's journey to find happiness. The character's psychology is portrayed deeply and complexly. The director gave us a deep dive into the character's psychology. This is not a simple romantic movie. This is a movie about life and happiness in every person. Although there are still many errors in the storytelling, this is a significant mark of Vietnamese films. From the film we can see the careful investment in content, images, script and message conveyed. The actors have devoted a lot to their roles. In short, this is a movie worth watching. An incredible cinematic mark from Tran Thanh.
Well, i dont think the copy cat things should be discussing any longer. For movie head, this film may come with alot of shot that's seem familiar. But Leto did it in the worst way, he isnt a real director at all, just some dude has a fame stood behind camera and his staffs did the rest. The film was too noisy and way too dramatic to watch. The story set a lot of dramas and problems and then left them like that without solving any of them. The strong point was the shots look much more improved compared to other V-movies. But for the 'romantic-tragedy-comedy' type, it should be on YouTube for free, not charging viewers in theatre. And another drama around this film was the staff bribed box offices to invade cinema showing times during Tet holiday, mislead audiences to watch the bad movie. Even Avatar 2 by James Cameron have reached that much of showing times.
