يعمل (سبنسر) قاتلًا مأجورًا لدى السلطات الفيدرالية الأمريكية، يقابل (جين) الفتاة الجميلة، وبعد أن يحبها يقرر التقاعد ويتزوجها، بعد مرور عدة سنوات يفاجئ بأن السلطات قد رصدت مبلغًا ضخمًا يقدر بالملايين لمن يقتله، وهو ما يثير شهية كل من حوله، فيحاول جميع أصدقائه، وأقاربه قتله، فيقرر الهروب والاختباء عند والد (جين) الذي كان قاتلًا مأجورًا أيضًا، ويحاول مساعدته.
