This is Jeff Hardy’s entire story with Umaga. In December 2006, Jeff faced Umaga in a non-title match. Umaga crushed Jeff in the corner, crushed him once again, the ref stopped the match and Umaga won. Then Umaga crushed him once again, hit the ref with the Samoan Spike and hit Jeff with another. They met again two weeks later at Tribute to the Troops in another non-title match. Umaga hit Jeff with the Samoan Spike to win the match. Two months later in February, Vince McMahon gave Umaga a shot at Jeff’s intercontinental Title, who then stared Vince down. Umaga crushed Jeff in the corner and hit him with the Samoan Spike to win the title. Jeff got his rematch two weeks later. Umaga crushed Jeff in the corner and hit him with the Samoan Spike to retain the title. Four months later in July, Jeff, Shelton Benjamin, Santino Marella and William Regal met in an elimination match for a chance at Umaga’s title. Regal eliminated Santino. Jeff eliminated Regal. Then Jeff countered Shelton, pinned him to win the match and got his shot at Great American Bash. Umaga hit Jeff with the Samoan Spike to retain the title. Next day on Raw, Umaga, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch faced Candice Michelle and John Cena in a handicap no DQ match. Umaga wanted to crush Candice in the corner, Jeff appeared, hit him with a chair, hit him again, hit him for a third time and continued to hit him with it until he went backstage. Then Cena hit Murdoch with the FU to win the match. Jeff disappeared for a whole month and returned against Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy countered the Swanton Bomb, went for the pin and Umaga came out. Kennedy instantly ran away, Umaga superkicked Jeff, crushed him in the corner and hit him with the Samoan Spike. They met for the title next week.
