Head Count 2023!!! Action, thrills, and humor! This movie connected with me as someone who grew up in rural Kansas. Saw it in north Kansas City at Screenland Armour and enjoyed the ride. The Kansas cinematography was great to see on the big screen. Representation for the rural mid-west is rare and this film delivers. This film has some violence but there is not much blood. There are no cheap booby shots either. Quality acting. Quality story telling and editing. I plan to see this film for a second time in the theater because I want to take some friends to see it. Watching this film supports local film making!
The acting is pretty bad because I don't think the directors did much to motivate the actors to convey any kind of character. They just deliver lines and the flow and pacing are very clunky which makes it near impossible to sit through. There are some obvious amateurish mistakes like improper establishing shots and there is no consistency to the depth or framing so it doesn't pull you into any kind of vision, it's just filming a story they wrote. I wanted to like this but it's not good. And yes the 3 10/10 reviews are obviously not real. There is no good reason to recommend this so I can't.
Head Count 2023, produced by the Burghart Brothers, is an absolute gem in the world of suspense movies. Special mention must be made of the lead actor, whose portrayal of a young man caught in a web of mystery and danger is both compelling and relatable. Visually, Head Count 2023 is a treat for the eyes. The cinematography is stunning, with beautifully composed shots that enhance the atmosphere of suspense and unease. The Burghart Brothers' attention to detail is evident in every frame, creating a visually immersive experience that adds another layer of depth to the film. Furthermore, this film heightens tension and creates an eerie ambiance. The haunting melodies and perfectly timed cues enhance the suspenseful moments, leaving us with an unforgettable cinematic experience. What sets Head Count 2023 apart from other suspense movies is its ability to delve into deeper themes while still maintaining its thrilling core. The film explores the nature of identity, trust, and the power of suggestion, leaving the audience with thought-provoking questions long after the credits roll. In conclusion, Head Count 2023 is a must-watch for any fan of suspense and psychological thrillers. The Burghart Brothers have crafted a masterpiece that will keep you guessing until the very end. With its gripping storyline, exceptional performances, stunning visuals, and haunting score, this film is a true testament to the talent and creativity of its creators. Don't miss out on this mind-bending journey into the unknown!
The acting is bad and the plot was boring to me. I had to turn off the movie before it ended. More so due to the bad acting. It started out with a somewhat good storyline but fell short quickly. I turned it off wen his brother got shot and he had NO emotion. And the gun goin off random was ridiculous too. The Three-10 star ratings have to be Bots or affliated people. There is no way the rewiews are Honest reviews. I dont believe Im spoiling anything but the review made me say it contains spoilers. Go ahead give it a watch. I think you will agree. If not then to each their own and maybe we just all have adifferent perception.
This movie knows exactly what it wants to be. The Burghart Brothers have created a fast paced, masterful demonstration of high wire tension storytelling that is an absolute delight to watch. While I was on the edge of my seat for much of the film, what I really appreciate most about it is the clear artistic vision. The set locations, costume design, and character personalities are all distinctly Kansas, something not often portrayed. This setting and cast of characters are then shot with a clearly unique creative eye that makes the film truly outstanding. The cinematography here really caught my attention. The bar fight and the climax are among my favorites, but there are just too many to mention. There are some truly iconic scenes in this movie with a lot of small details that make it fun to rewatch. Shout out to the sound designer putting a subtle tiger growl in the background effects of that climax scene, it works so well! I will be sharing this film with everyone I know and I can't wait to watch the next film from the Burghart Brothers, bravo!
