Hatsu Basho 2026 is here, and everything starts at the Ryogoku Kokugikan. This is the Sumo Basho 2026 that sets the tone for the entire year, where sumo wrestlers come in with new momentum, new pressure, and nothing to hide. From the first day of sumo bouts to the final weekend, SumoSpirit is breaking down what matters most in sumo 2026, inside the heart of sumo Japan. We’ll track the banzuke storylines across makuuchi and juryo, and follow the sumo wrestling drama as it unfolds match by match. Who looks unstoppable, who looks vulnerable, and who is about to shock everyone? Big names and big questions are on the table, including Hoshoryu, Onosato, Aonishiki, and every sumo wrestler trying to climb or survive in the top ranks of sumo tournaments. If you love sumo, this is the place to be for the full sumo basho January experience, updates, highlights, and the moments that decide the next chapter.
