تدور الأحداث في قالب من الرعب والإثارة. خلال عيد الهالوين عام 1963، يقتل (مايكل مايرز) أخته (جوديث)، وفي عام 1978 يهرب من أجل قتل أخته الثانية (لوري). يقتل مايكل كل أصدقائها، ولكن لوري تنجح في الهرب. بعد عدة سنوات تقوم لوري بتزييف موتها حتى لا يعثر عليها مايكل مجددًا. الآن في عام 1998، يعود مايكل للظهور ومعه ما يرشده إلى طريق لوري، وهو حتمًا لا ينوي الفشل هذه المرة.
