Here you see Jodie at her best, balancing anxiety with brittle determination. An absolute sterling performance on all levels. Its hard to imagine hoe she could have done it better. The directing is so "you-are-there", you're not only in the plane, moving with them but every nuance is captured and moves you emotionally. What was the error? Midway through the children in front of her are asked if they saw her daughter to which they reply in the negative. Right at the end the girl says she did see her. Why the contradiction? Makes no sense. Guess they needed the audience convinced that Jodie really had lost it. Anyway its minor and hardly detracts from a magnificently made film. The captain was also flawless in his meticulous British vocal delivery, every syllable in its exact place for maximum impact. Why don't we all endeavor to talk like that? Its linguistic discernment taken to the very heights of Nirvana. It truly is where our language came from. We should make our way bcck there.

Kyle(Jodie Foster) is a widow, and her daughter Julia(Marlene Lawston) and she,are going back to New York to bury Kyle's husband, dead in a strange accident apparently said to be a suicide. Unstable, they take the flight from Berlim at Night and tired,Kyle fall asleep. That's when her problems begins: When she wakes up, Kyle don't find Julia in any place, becoming desperate and even asking the help of the captain and the Flight Attendants, who doesn't have any clue about the girl. The problems are even worst, when they discover that there isn't any type of registration that the girl have entered in the airplane. In panic, she needs to find out what happened and also questions herself about her sanity. **Spoiler** This movie has a great potential, but when I was becoming to vibrate,it ends. I was expecting more about the movie and also the story behind it. It is entertaining, but I think the end is a little bit disappointing.:(

There are holes in this movie's logic you could fly a jumbo jet thru! Kyle & her daughter stand at the gate looking at the jet and not one of 400+ passengers sees the daughter? Kyle and her daughter move to the back of the jet to sleep and no one sees Julia? Kyle, a jet propulsion engineer, is thoroughly knowledgeable about the electronics of the jet? And after Kyle's search for the girl, the air marshal convinces the pilot that the search was a ruse and that Kyle is actually a terrorist and extortionist? In what universe is such a thing logical? Jody Foster is a very smart person -- can't figure out why she attached herself to this garbage! And if anyone can explain to me why the main character wasn't arrested and thrown in prison at the end of the movie, I'd be interested to hear it!
