Great scenery. Awesome plot!!!! A rare find for an indi film. Music is amazing. All the characters really played well in this plot. This is a very well written movie where you are wondering the whole time who did it. Typical small town where a few people control all the wealth and others are all trying to get Their piece of the pie. For a an independent film the writer director was able to get actors that played their roles like seasoned professionals. The new comers are as believable as the more experienced cast. The scenery is really special. Herds of deer and beautiful beaches and sunsets. This movie deserves a look.
This film reminded me so much of A Simple Plan, obviously without the household names in it but never-the-less a classic old school noir. Beautifully shot, very well acted and a kickass score to boot! I'll definitely be looking out for this director's next film. I didn't see the end coming, and there's no doubt this thriller is a slow burn but that's what I loved about it. I'm also curious where it was filmed because so much of the film felt rural, and then it opened up into a sort of beach-house coastal world. Final thoughts, I enjoyed it more than most of what I'm seeing on Netflix these days which all seems very similar and box checking in terms of themes. This film was refreshing because it was smarter than that. It felt more like a European style thriller, possibly French, maybe even Scandinavian.
And to some darnridden fact they do shoot well , this production, that is rolling out in the middle of nothingness ,duck county, FL(?) usa. When i say shoot well then im pointing towards the filmographic work quality, its basicly perfect, but the editing and directing of some scenes couldve been elaborated and connected better. Its a solid act by the lead male, the rest is more like the average. So if you want to dive into kingdome come of the king of the hill, and the murderous mysteries among the kings friends, offspring and the mysterious disappearance of a woman and her father in crocodile country, do holler in and join the rest trying to ''find her'' its perfect playtime, not much nonsense and roundabouting, cause the culprit is there somewhere inside your blindspot. A recommend from the grumpy old man.
I really had no expectations for this movie. I was literally just looking for something to watch and came across this. Sounded intriguing and my expectations were low! It has some wonderful landscape shots that make this look like a lot of money and planning went into this very independent movie. While there are not any stars I recognized, there were faces that looked familiar and none of the acting seemed amateur. This looks like it is probably a low budget movie but it looks great and the acting is incredible. The noir crime mystery plot isn't anything new, but the story is compelling. Really enjoyed this. A great surprise.
I had no expectations for this movie. But when a drama / mystery focuses on boring landscape shots over and over, you know something foul is up. They are simply covering up the ultra low budget and hope you don't notice the boring story and horrible acting. Not to mention the poor direction and music track that doesnt fit the film. Per the story -- nothing origial here. It's been done over and over ad infinitum. And done so much better. In fact, without giving any spoilers, I can confidently tell you you will figure out the ending withn 26 minutes. It's so poorly written you have to wonder how this guy got backing to ALSO direct it. Doubt anyone will make their money back on this one. Perhaps the saddest thing is the acting. They are all acting like green amateurs. Sort of sad to see them struggling to emote. The movie doesnt deserve a look.
