Some good info but all in all is biased towards Dr Fauci. This did not explain his involvement with the Hunan lab and his many other financial connections nor did it convey that he is the highest paid US government employee.
I mean, in the history of mankind, they've never made a move about a person.... who was absolutely wrong about absolutely everything in their career, and went out of his way to lie to the people he serves. Disgusting.
It's a bit long but I couldn't have imagined how hard it would be to take any part of the story out. It's a beautifully told and massively inspiring story.
I am currently a medical school student. I thought this movie was going to show us the incredible mind behind Dr. Fauci's success. I mean he has been picked by a few administrations to tackle the newest and most complex diseases, surely this movie would tell us why he was picked for such a role. Instead we got nothing but propaganda. It wasn't targeted to demonstrate his genius, but instead it appeals to the emotional side of people. To make him look like the doctor of the people instead of a very skilled physician. Most of the stuff he had done is highly erroneous but I wont get into that. Overall, it was a movie to make him look good. The fact he even had George Bush, a neoconservative, to compliment him, should suffice to say he wanted his ego stroked by both sides of the aisle.
Professionally done, camera work is very good. Sound did a great job at capturing the audio well. Technically speaking, this is a well done documentary. Unfortunately due to extremely low public opinion of Dr. Fauci, this was an opportunity to acknowledge the many misteps, add some humility. Instead it wreaks of desperate attempt to re-paint him as a Hero with integrity, who does his best for the people, who plays no politics. Very sad, they had a real opportunity @ hand, instead it comes off as a desperate anti-smear PR stunt. Side note: National Geographic Fauci set, arrives with box of sweets, popcorn and other junk food. Who's silly idea was that? Are they not aware of the deadly mess diabetes, obesity mixed with respiratory virus cause? Seriously? Whoever did that, should be fired immediately.
This is a great documentary about a great public servant who has been fighting for public health for 40 years. Worth a watch if you are interested in that sort of thing. Can be a little dry otherwise.
