Must watch
source: Enemy of the State
The movie was a nice watch and also ahead of it's time. It showed how the government and it's agency can misuse the powers to do anything they want. Thr story and the direction was good. The performances by the cast was also good. Overall, it was a good movie.
Hollywood and the media have always claimed that the right wing wants to surveil everyone. However, the opposite has always been true. Now, in mid-2020, we all know the truth of how the left has for years been building their surveillance empire. They collect data on everyone. If you get out of line you are canceled. Bottom line.
This movie came out over ten year ago and no doubt it still holds up as a great thriller. It uses such a new original idea that is just great and keeps you interested. The actors all did a very good job and it really makes you think about the technology the government is using. This movie is about a young up and coming lawyer(Smith) who starts to be tracked by members of the government. Unknown to him someone dropped a chip in his bag that contains a video of a secret murder the government officials committed. This movie is action packed from start to finish. The actors all did a great job and this movie has you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
I really enjoy watching old tech-based movies and this one was fascinating. First 70 minutes were AWESOME, but ending wasn't explained 100%. However, this is must-see movie in 2019, because it was filmed 20 years ago and there are still same problems in the world based on our privacy.
This movie is largely inoffensive and provides a thrill or two. Will Smith is fairly low key and is not as annoying as he normally is. I wouldn't think about the plot too much afterward, or it might ruin any enjoyment you might gain. There are plot holes larger than the sky in this movie, but it did not bother me that much. There are several good actors in small parts (Loren Dean, Seth Green, Barry Pepper) and older horses (Jon Voight, Jason Robards, Gene Hackman) and it makes for an interesting cast.
First of all, Enemy Of The State is 32 years ahead of its time. It is one of a few movies I have watched more than once. It deserves a 5 star rating. And IMDB's too short description of the move is illiterate. Proper English is "evidence OF a crime", not "evidence TO a crime". Smarten up. If you can.
