It's really a nice movie. Maybe is to much strong and drammatic, but there is a big message for the people, and it is so emotional. When she listen the vocal message of her daughter is totally amazing.
It's a nice movie, it's really good the way it was shot. Good direction, good photography and a very dramatic story that takes you. The situation is similar to the movie "127" hours, but the way it is told is totally different, even the meaning.
First off, I don't understand how anyone rated this over a 1. I can't find anything good about this movie. 95% of the movie is just watching a terrible female try to act and cry in a pit where nothing happens in the movie. Why was this move so long it could have been done in 45mins (although actors were still pretty bad). Add that to the fact anyone with half a brain would not have done what she was doing in the pit and could have just climbed out without any experience climbing. I am an experienced outdoor climbing who has climbed up a few 1000-1500ft walls, 100+ 500ft walls, probably 1000 300ft walls. The wall she was trying to climb out of could have been so easy to climb out of even if you only had 1 leg. Noone with experience in those types of area would be dumb enough to throw a bottle with water still in it that falls out when she throws it.
I saw it on amazon at night, and I totally immersed myself in the story. The title is beautiful, the earth breathes, the volcano, the daughter's illness, the meaning of the title is beautiful. James Cosmo is a great actor...
I was excited at first to watch this movie since I'll be a geoscience major But this absolutely ridiculous, the storyline was lack luster and the effort put into the character development was atrocious. I sat for 25 minutes waiting for something worthwhile to happen.... only to be graced by a series of random narrative and some amount of flashback which did not capture my attention How do I know? Because I tried to endure this abomination twice and not once did make it past the 25 min mark. I even tried giving the creators a benefit of the doubt to at at least read some reviews in the meanwhile and honestly some are about the emotional effect of this film which I guess may be valuable But if you're watching for some geothermal action... This movie is not it Better to go watch a low budget sci-fi movie on the world ending from a "terrestrial apocalypse"
James Cosmo was great, the actress and the other actor too. I liked the film a lot, I would have preferred a stronger ending, but it thrilled me, so I think if something gives you strong emotions, it's a good thing.
The movie went from a 7 down to a 3 then to a 1 towards the end. First of all, how can the closest friend and colleague of her Adam cannot retrace the path to her work site (as she even able to go back to retrieve her bag). 2nd, as soon as the rain started to fall, it is just illogical that there's no sign of desperate attempt to quench her thirst or trying to fill up the empty bottle from cascading water. And third and most absurd of all, she were able to survive long enough under the water as the hole filled up to the brim. In fact is more logical if she is able to float and cling on the wall of the hole as the water rises. The movie just try to be beautiful and majestic but failed in the logic - that spoilt it all.
It is a solid movie and I think that it exist to bring streingh to the people that need help. When I watched this movie I understood that in the life the only streingh to go on come inside yourself, no from lover or friends or sons. Really nice movie.
The film is very sad, it is about a woman who lost her daughter and became depressed. Throughout the film you hope that she will hug her daughter again, only at the end you understand that the little girl is gone. A masterpiece, I cried. Seems a commercial movie, but it is something to special.
