Twisted tale about a crazy, preaching redneck named Jake who kidnaps people off the highway and performs sick medical experiments on them. He then proceeds to sell their organs on the black market to Mr. Stone. Everything is fine until he kidnaps the handicapped April and finds that she is harder to control than the others.

Blood Salvage
This is a B rate movie that is actually good. It has twists and turns and keeps your interest. The effects are good. This movie is not heard of much. And is very hard to find. I saw it about 10 years ago, and cant find it anymore to rent or buy. If you get to see this one , you'll like it. It has scary parts, and some are even funny, and the best part is the effects are real, and not computer animated. Rent this one or buy it if you can. Good movie. Low budget, but comes out nicely. Some famous faces are in this one. If you are a horror fan pick this one out. I give it a 6 out of 10. So remember when you travel try not to break down on dirt roads in the middle of nowhere, because you might find yourself at the mercy of a red-neck gang in an old house being terrorized, for days until you die. This is a good movie to watch right before going on a camping trip, or on a nice vacation.
Well, In the B movie sense anyway. It is greatly entertaining. If Hiram doesn't keep you laughing throughout this movie then you are living a sad life. It even has John Saxon in it, which some will recognize as the father in "A Nightmare on Elm Street" It has some decent acting (although The main character's (April) voice is a little annoying.) Ok effects, and a whole lotta laughs. If you are on a B movie hunt. Pick this one up!
BLOOD SALVAGE is a low-grade B-movie horror that might be one of the earliest examples of the 'torture *' genre of filmmaking, although things never get too grisly here. The story is about a murderous hick who kidnaps victims and performs organ removals upon them before selling the body parts on the black market. Problems arise when his newest victim decides to fight back. The acting here is nondescript and the script is nothing to write home about, with tired old situations playing out that you've seen done a million times before. John Saxon plays in support and looks embarrassed to be here, and you can't really blame him.
This is an entertaining film. It's kind of like a cross between Deliverance and Nightmare on Elm Street. It's hard to find but if you're a "B" horror fan you'll dig it. The real treat is the barn and the gadgets that the film makers came up with to illustrate the "salvage" operation. I wish we could see more of that. There's a surprising cameo by Evander Hollyfield (with ear complete - a little ironic given the subject of the film).
This is one of those obscure horror films made and forgotten. But this movie has all the parts of a classic. Smooth plot, understandable events, blood, it has it all. The interaction between Jake and his 2 sons works, and the way the victims are treated is expected. Watch this movie!
This movie is one of the best horror's I've seen in awhile. It rips off the texas chainsaw massacre and motel hell all throughout the movie. But it takes the same material and puts it in to something way better. The acting is good and the bad guys actually have a motive for doing what their doing. It's very logical too. It makes you think. If you see this somewhere do rent it.
I saw this film under the title "Mad Jake".It tells us the story about deranged farmer Jake and his two imbecile sons-they murder tourists for their organs, which are later sold to rich merchants."Blood Salvage" is certainly twisted and grisly, and also very funny. The acting is decent, and there's short cameo by a famous boxer Evander Holyfield, who actually produced this one."Blood Salvage" borrows from "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre"(1974)and "Eaten Alive"(1976-for example huge alligator as a pet companion of Jake),but it is more slickly made than those two.Recommended, but definitely not for the squeamish. My rating:7 out of 10.
