Well...what can I say? Sure, I hate South Park. I never liked Trey Parker and Matt Stone. I hated the legions of fans that supported South Park. Well, the hatred for South Park hasn't changed, but I have found a new love for Trey and Matt. These guys are absolutely hysterical, especially Trey Parker, who had my sides splitting by the time he was listening to the song in the car. BASEketball is a great movie, and surprisingly hilarious. I figured it would be stupid. I was wrong. There was just something about the gags, characters, references and cameos that made me hoot for joy. Trey Parker, I think you rock, and I hope to see you in more films. You remind me of me, before the weight of the world crushed my spirits. SQUEAK!

There's a surprisingly relevant social commentary on the commercialism of modern sports which makes up the foundation of this movie, albeit a commentary which is easily lost in a paint-by-numbers story combined with Matt and Trey's usual style of vulgar humour. The upside of that is its almost unrelentingly self-satirising and merciless in its mocking of how ridiculous it knows itself to be, resulting in a decent amount of good laughs which carry the film through its formulaic structure and predictable low points

BLEH ! If you're looking for the best way to waste your time, you should probably watch this movie ! 1/10 for the trouble of making it...

This movie came out at about the same time as "There's Something About Mary" and didn't do well at the box office but for my money, it nearly matches that film for sheer, shameless belly laughs. Trey Parker and Matt Stone (the creators of "South Park") are a unique and very funny duo....they're not great actors, but they're not asked to be. One gets the sense that they are basically playing themselves and their repartee and comic timing are right on the money. Combine that with a supporting cast of many familiar faces and a script that takes pot-shots at our nation's obsession with and the vast commercialization of sports and you have the makings of a comedy classic. Yes, it's tasteless and juvenile....but go with the spirit of it and you'll be very entertained. I give it 3 *** stars out of 4.

I was surprised that this movie was made by one of the zucker brothers and it was funny as usual. this movie stars Trey parker and Matt stone the creators of the hit comedy show south park. this movie is about 2 buddies invent a game that is a combination of baseball and basketball that is only played on driveways called baseketball. flat out funny all the way through. a must see. you can see More of parker and stone in team America world police south park bigger longer uncut. Rated R for strong language and crude sex related humor 26 uses of the F-word 1hr 44min/104min ***/****

This movie is a standard side-splitter, with little storyline to back it up, but outstanding comedy. This is the first film for Trey Parker and Matt Stone (South Park creators) as actors, and although that shows, they do a pretty good job. Voices from their hit show are lent to the dialog every now and then, which just adds to the humour. A great underdog story (reminicent of 'Dodgeball')- where a team/group of friends has to overcome a challenge to rise above as a victorious group of friends once again - but with much less of the story to go on. Nevertheless, the movie will have you laughing more than enough. Where the story may fall short, this is the point of the movie; viewers will notice this after a few minutes in...it's just that type of comedy. The characters, cast, writing and directing of BaseketBALL make it rise among the late 90's top funny movies.

This movie is like the worst comedy I have ever seen. All jokes here are really stupid, not original - used lots of times in other not very good films. I think this work could be appreciated by me like... hmm... ten years ago, at age of 12 - I used to like flat jokes around that time. The main disappointment in BASEketball is watching great man like Trey Parker: creator of the really fantastic, full of good jokes, show "South Park", also writer/director/leading actor of funny "Orgazmo". What did move this talented person to take part in a piece of garbage? He was already famous at that time, and I am REALLY sure he was and is not fond of the script. I think this could be a good scenario for the X-files - "Abduction of Trey Parker".

I was a big South Park fan from day one ("The Spirit of Christmas"), and occasionally still catch it on Comedy Central when I'm around. The previews for Baseketball didn't make me want to rush to the theatre, but I assumed a movie featuring the South Park guys *had* to be pretty funny. Boy was I wrong... I'm afraid I can't submit a complete review of the movie, because I walked out before it was half over. This, folks, was the first movie I have *ever* walked out of -- and I've seen some pretty horrible movies! (Including Yor: Hunter from the Future.) Aside from a very few scenes the jokes were extremely low-grade (i.e., not even clever). This movie was a complete waste of time and money. [ P.S. I've resolved to never again see a movie that has the audacity to include Ernest Borgnine or Jenny McCarthy on its cast list. ]
