The father of three children is killed when he leaves his house, which provokes much sentimental emotion in the neighborhood--because the people know nothing about his dark past.

A devoted father of three gets fatally shot by the daughter's boyfriend and male friend saying that he sexually molested her. As some are for and some are against her accusations. Especially those in the now slain father's own family. It has a pre-Friends young David Schwimmer on there as one of the two men. But really now the real Cheryl Pierson is now out without serving a second or two in prison. Justice is not perfect and needs to be cleaned up.
It was a serious film, the story is very sad and also horrible. The fact no one else reported the man abusing his daughter is shocking. Although a disturbing story, the silly hairstyle worn by the brother was distracting and quite ridiculous.
The brother with the wig is worth watching. Also Ross from "Friends" does a stand up job. Sad it's a true story, I wonder if the brother's hair looked like that in the real victims. All and all it's alright, watch it with your lady.
Calling this bad would be an understatement. Nothing about this total joke of a film was redeemable: the plot was the definition of wasted potential, the acting was bland and cardboard, and to top it off, the characters were nothing but unlikeable. If any of the characters died I wouldn't care. The movie is nothing but one long, meaningless, self-centered, waste of an hour and a half. For crying out loud, even Daneboe (the guy who created the Annoying Orange) made content with more meaning than this mess. This movie is the 1980's version of r/im14andthisisdeep, with the same pretentious, pseudo-deep sentiment.
Incest is a taboo in our society. We don't talk about it and we certainly don't make movies about it, unless they're * efforts. (You wouldn't believe the ghastly stuff that turns up when you do a search under "incest" which I had to do here because I had failed to get the title.) Yet incest also happens in our society, too often if this film's statistics are to be believed. This is a screen polemic obviously designed to focus on the problem and those afflicted by it. But it still is a gripping, well done drama with some excellent courtroom scenes and no pulled punches. Yet it is compassionate and realistic, stooping neither to sensation nor preaching. It makes its several points very effectively! The producers deserve tremendous credit for tackling this delicate topic, even as a promotional effort. I'm sure it prompted people to seek assistance when it first was done in '89 and, most recently, when it was shown on A&E.
