I will admit that at first part way into the movie I was confused and almost gave up watching it. The flashback sequences were confusing but in the end writer/director Wyatt McDill does pull off an excellent movie tying up the ending and explaining the story. A good mental exercise and fun to watch. I can't say more than that because it would ruin the experience.
Every clue is provided during the movie that you need to crack the case. It's resolved at the last scene so how did you do? Thank heavens for rewind. It's a pandemic panacea for a couple of hours.
I can only remember a few words being said and almost never 2 in a row. The director will give you hints throughout the scenes as it switches from a kidnapping to a treasure hunt, or is it a reunion, or is it something else? I think film goers should be warned when such a unique technique is used. I assume the low ratings are due to those expecting dialogue to guide one through the plot. Not this film! If you are one of those people who's losing interest after the first few scenes, don't get discouraged. this movie is VERY good.
The movie keeps going back and replaying from different perspectives. It's hard to keep up with what's going on. The main character is deaf and you have no idea what she's saying. The whole movie probably has 50 words total.
Looks and feels like something somebody in film school got a B on. Upside - it is less than the standard 1.5hours. Downside - it jumps around so much that you lose focus on the ridiculous revenge plan. Resist the temptation to rewind. Just let it play or watching something else. It's not worth it.
I had a great time watching this engaging thriller. Shot in the forrest, this movie combines a treasure hunt with mind boggling and intricate plot twists. As the story begins, a young camper, Morgan Krantz, comes across what he believes is a murder scene. But it's so much more... With that said, pay attention! This film uses uniquely uses minimal dialogue. Personally, I thought Scott Macdonald stole the show as the principal antagonist. His performance reminded me of some Dennis Hopper's better villainous roles. Cinematography and score were top notch as well! Check this out if you're looking for a quick thrill ride. At 81 minutes, your palette will be enhanced!
