Developing strength in asymmetrical positions is essential for volleyball athletes who must generate and absorb force while maintaining control throughout dynamic movements. In this installment of USA Volleyball's Strength 101 series, Myles Cooper and Logan Webber explore the Bulgarian Squat, a rear-foot-elevated exercise that challenges lower-body strength, balance, and pelvic stability. With an emphasis on weight distribution, range of motion, and maintaining proper alignment under load, this movement encourages athletes to develop greater control through each leg independently. Watch as Myles and Logan break down the technique, apply their coaching cues to your next training session, and subscribe to USA Volleyball for more Strength 101 exercises designed to elevate your performance on the court.
