All the good reviews of this movie are lies. What a dull and confusing movie. The only shocking part is the ghost sitting on his neck. Only and it's the last scene.

I'm rating this 1 just to even the score up. This film is nothing but a cash-in on the Ju-on/Grudge films, and the worst I've seen in a long time. The direction and timing is awful, the acting is bad, and none of the intended scares have any effect at all - well at least not to me. With the lack of fear-factor it's really nothing more than a boring drama about a couple unearthing some of the less finer moments of their past, to terrible, but very boring, consequences. It has the overall effect of a made for TV film. It's basically just a Dawson's Creek special in Japan with added ghosts. This film has been a waste of time.

"Shutter" is Asian cinema as you would expect it. There's a ghost in it. One with long black hair and a white face. One that comes crawling out of watery vessels and pops up in your bed or on your windshield. A ghost that wants vengeance for something that has been done to her. Have you heard that before? I know I have. Still "Shutter" is one of the more successful Asian horror movies. The reason for that is its fast pacing. This movie just isn't as slow as so many other Asian flicks are. There are still some annoying plot holes and the whole story isn't earthshattering, either. Most of the scares are cheap and obvious, but it's still an entertaining little ghost movie with a great score.

what else i can say about this marvelous ,magnificent and huge movie!! first of all i have seen millions of horror movies and no one so far have scared me to death like this one...this is the first horror movie which really scary me in my hole life... this movie has not any special effects or something similar related with big special effects used by the Americans in the horror films, the story is magnificent..the sequences between the scenes and the suspense music is magnificent,the ghost girl is the most scaring cast i have ever seen in my whole life..i am 38 and i have more than 30 years watching horror movies and this movie is from another planet... this is a thai movie filmed in bangkok..all the details to create suspenses,fear and terror were prefect handled since the beginning of the movie until the end.the end is fantastic and leave the body shaking the skin start to tremble and so far to these days every time i think in this movie i got really scared.i have seen this movie a lot of times at home and never stop saying..WHAT AN INCREDIBLE MOVIE!! if you value this movie with less than 10 points is an insult.. this movie deserve not 10..but 100 points. please don't hesitate to buy this movie...after you see this you will remember this movie your hole life..i am not kidding. cheers..from venezuela Maurice
