RAD....wow....17 years after it originally came out and it still remains one of the best films, most definitive films of a generation. Who will ever forget the stellar acting of Bill Allen, the luscious Lori Laughlin (speaking of oscars, where was hers for Casper 2? Huh?), and the amazing Bart Conner as THE Bart Taylor. Sure, a few elements might be a tad dated (They wouldn't call it Helltrack after 9/11, no siree bob!), but it still is just as good as the day it came out. A friend of mine were having a debate on which 80s film would stand the test of time...this or Raiders of the Lost Ark. Time will tell on that one.

a triumph of cinematography that has yet to be surpassed. two gripes: no sequel, and no sequel to That sequel. am currently saving my dimes for computer powerful enough to rip from video to dvd. helltrack will be digitalized yet! a perplexing and damningly persistent question of mine over the years is: why would mongoose allow themselves to be cast as the evil corporate sponsor aiming to bury the competition at all costs? as a direct result of this fictional portrayal, my friends and i pretty much banished mongoose to the lower rungs of bemexdom to stand alongside such pariahs as diamondback and huffy, while holding gt(and their corresponding sister companies, auburn, robinson, etc.) as well as the smaller independent manufacturers, ie. bully, standard, elf in much higher esteem. oh well, i guess they figured any press was good press. fools.

I have been watching Rad since 1986 or 1987. It's in my top five of most watched movies of all time. It's like Rocky on a bike. The feeling you get watching this movie is the same feeling you get watching Rocky II,III,and IV. Rad is a classic in my mind. It came out in my favorite decade of all time the 80's. I grew up watching Rad. I have always loved Rad and always will. I give the movie Rad **** out of ****

Rad (1986) is a really good movie, brings back memories of the 80's BMX craze, this is by far the best BMX movie made, BMX Bandits sucked!! The story is about this local BMX rider Cru Jones who enters a top class BMX competition called "HELLTRACK" with all the best BMX riders in the world, the HELLTRACK riders have all got massive sponsorship but Cru has to battle and fight just to enter the competition and get suitable sponsorship, will Cru manage to get into the competition and can he do the unthinkable and WIN!!! I give this movie 8/10, it's entertaining and fast paced with good racing action and a great soundtrack too, if you love the 80's then i highly recommend it for nostalgic value.

Well before X Games was even thought of or heard of "Rad" was in theaters. I was young when the movie came out and my memory of the entire movie is a bit hazy, but what I do remember was good. As young as I was when I watched it I would not have known good acting from bad, but I remember the cool stunts he was trying and his determination to do the back flip on the bike (which is a standard stunt now). Also, how could anyone forget the scene from the school dance where he did variable stunts to the song "Give me an Angel". Rad is most likely a cult classic if it is anything at all, very few have watched it and probably even fewer will remember it. It is another iconic symbol of the great 80's.

Montages for days in this epic bmx film. This movie made me want to race bmx and to learn unnecessary backflips.

I can't even count how many times I've watched this movie. Such a fun trip down memory lane. Takes me back to cruising the neighborhood with my friends on our BMX.
